Director of Economic Development
Missy’s welcoming personality makes her the perfect Director of Economic Development. When site selectors and developers look at Jefferson City as a place to (re)locate their business, Missy stands ready to show-off our vibrant community. Currently, Missy is staying busy facilitating land and building purchases in the Chamber’s business park, located north of Hwy 50. She also just recently wrapped up JeffCity START, a workforce development program that connects job seekers and businesses. In tandem, Missy manages the Chamber’s online job board, the most visited web page on the Chamber’s website.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I love to work out. I have great workout family and can’t imagine not having them! I also love to spend time with my husband, kids and friends at the Lake.
Q: What are some words you live by?
A: Since the 2019 Chamber Gala I think I will start living by the same words I heard from B.J. DeLong: “If it is going to be, it is up to me!” I LOVE that and she is such an inspiration!
Q: Something people may not know about you?
A: In middle school and high school, I was in a girl’s sextet with my best friends and we traveled around Central Missouri singing barbershop. One year, the high school wouldn’t let us enter the talent show because we performed at Miss Missouri and received $100 — they said we were “professional” performers. We thought that was pretty funny!
Q: What is your favorite part about working at the Chamber?
A: My favorite part is being involved in so many projects in our community. Every day is different and I get to work with so many great community and business leaders. You never know what the day will bring! We also have an exceptional economic development staff that is well respected in our industry.
