How did you react once you found out you won Exceptional Employee of the Year?
It was an honor to be nominated by my boss and to be among the other awesome nominees and finalists! So, when I won, it was very surprising and exciting! I don’t even remember what I said during the awards luncheon but I hope I remembered to thank everyone!
Tell us your story! How did you come to be at C&S Business Services?
I knew Paula (Owner of C&S Business Services) from serving as Chamber Ambassadors together and we both serve on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City board. Paula was considering expanding her staff if she could find someone to help with marketing, community relations and recruiting. The timing seemed to be right for the both of us and a good fit for both of us too!
After working just short of 2 years at C&S you won this prestigious award, so what is the secret to being an exceptional employee?
I don’t know that there’s a “secret formula” or anything…I just do what I was taught by my parents and what tons of other people do every day…I try to do my best.
What do you do when you’re not being an exceptional employee?
I grew up (the youngest of 6) on a farm in Osage County and have lived all my adult life in Jefferson City. My husband, Bruce, and I have a grown daughter, Mackenzie, who lives in St. Louis. I also have a “Little Sister” through Big Brothers Big Sisters that I have been matched with for over 6 years now. In my spare time, I like hanging out with family & friends, shopping, jogging/walking outdoors, and going to (rock) concerts. At last count, I think I’ve seen over 60 different (rock) bands and I’m looking forward to adding to that list!
